This week I discovered another quick and easy Tableau functionality that I never knew existed; renaming Grand Totals and Totals. I cannot believe I had missed something so useful and yet so easy in the 2 years I have been using Tableau so I decided to make it the focus of my #BestNewTableauSkill.
To edit the label of a Grand Total or Total right click the header of your Grand Total or Total and select Format. Within the formatting options appearing in your side bar update the Label option within either the Grand Total or Total section (depending on what you want to change).
Your updated Grand Total or Total label will now be visible in your visualisation.
